I have good memories of the OC Auto Show, assuming that we’re talking about the one hosted at the Anaheim Convention Center. Three or four years ago I was there with a friend checking out all of the various vehicles, and we were a little tired from all of the walking around. We just wanted to find a nice minivan to kick back in and stopped at the first one we stumbled across. It happened to be the Mazda booth where they were showing off the recently redesigned Mazda5.
I wasn’t in the market for a new car at the time and was just chatting with the folks at the booth to make it seem like we were interested in the vehicle instead of the truth, namely that we just wanted a place to sit back and rest our tired feet. The more I looked at the vehicle the more I liked, especially since I found out that you could get it with a manual transmission. Fast forward a year and I’ve relocated and needed a new car. Based on my experiences at that auto show, I ended up purchasing a Mazda5 6MT, and after 3 years and just over 40K miles I couldn’t be happier.
